Born and raised on Kauaʻi, I have spent most of my life learning about horticulture and ecology on island. Before and after studying at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, I worked with numerous landscape and conservation groups to learn the best practices in landscaping, conservation, and horticulture.

For the past ten years, I have had the privilege of leading ONE Landscape as a licensed contractor in landscape and excavation, and helping shape properties across Kauaʻi.

Landscaping here is a different animal than most places. We work with steep slopes, heavy rainfall, erosion, salt air, persistent moisture, and a growing season that never truly stops. The same climate that allows tropical landscapes to flourish can also expose every weakness in a poorly planned property. Drainage, grading, access, plant selection, soil health, and long-term maintenance must all be considered from the beginning. A beautiful landscape should also drain properly, hold its ground, respond to the climate, and become more established—not more difficult—as the years pass.

Our process begins by listening. We take the time to understand the property, how you hope to use it, and what you want it to feel like. From there, we bring together thoughtful design and experienced site work to create landscapes that feel natural to their surroundings and personal to the people who live there.

Kauaʻi is where I grew up, where my wife and I are raising our two children, and where I have chosen to build this company. I care deeply about the work we leave behind.
